Highlights of the DHM 2020 Mission Trip

The DHM team recently arrived back to the UK after an amazing trip to Ukraine. The team of 12 worked together alongside our Ukrainian partners. We were all privileged to see the work that God is doing in Ukraine.

Here are a few picture highlights from the trip last week…

It was a privilege for us to visit Ivan, one of the members of Pastor Alexander’s church for disabled people. Because of his disability, Ivan literally hasn’t left his flat in Kyiv for nearly 20 years. DHM volunteers, Rodger and Margaret, here are presenting Ivan with a Kindle device, provided by DHM, which will enable Ivan and his Mum to livestream in to the church services and to listen to music and the audio Bible in Ukrainian.

Here Margaret from the DHM team is speaking to Alina, who suffers from a severe disability and has been bed-bound since childhood. Alina and her Mum are also members of Pastor Alexander’s church.

This year the DHM trip included a visit to a care home for the elderly in the town of Tsarichanka. Here the DHM Team Chaplain, Pastor Honesty, has his photo taken with Dunya, one of the residents of the care home.

Before flying out to Ukraine on 28th January, the DHM team prayed together in the middle of the busy South Terminal of Gatwick Airport – “Church Without Walls”!

Thanks to the generosity of DHM partners in the UK and USA, we were able to purchase gifts for each of the 154 residents of the care home in Tsarichanka, including a fresh towel, chocolates and fresh fruits, as well as specific medications
