DHM Ukrainian Summer Camps

No child should ever have to live through a war; no child should have to go to sleep scared or need to hide in a bomb shelter or basement. No child should go to play in the park and experience missiles flying over their heads. No child should be separated from loved ones and forced to flee their homes. No children should spend years without the security and routines of school and lose critical years of education and social development.

After 18 months of war, the trauma experienced by the children of Ukraine cannot be underestimated. This is why Dnipro Hope Mission’s partners are helping children this summer. We have sent funds which have enabled hundreds of children to ‘escape’ the war and spend time in a safe place where they can rest and play and experience ‘normality’. Activities range from bible stories and quiet times of peace, craft activities, hiking in the mountains, communion around the campfire, wet water rafting, high wires and more. Children were able to eat delicious food and receive love and care from trusted adults.

Please pray that those taking part return home with renewed hope and better coping strategies for the terrible times they are living through. Please pray for the adults running these activities – they need emotional strength. Pray for each of the children – may they know the light that shines in the darkness.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your donations which have enabled us to sponsor these summer camps which have helped refugee and displaced children heal from the trauma of war. We ask for your continued support as we look ahead to continue this work and offer children winter fun days and Christmas gifts.
